Week 2 Waiver Wire Adds
Tyrod Taylor: Taylor looked like a lot more than just a game manager on Sunday. He was slinging the rock all over the field and making the right reads. Taylor has always been a great QB to have when it comes to the turnover margin, and now he looks comfortable in the Houston offense. He’s a great bench stash for your starter’s bye week or more than startable in a superflex league.
Taylor Heinicke: The man that almost took down Tom Brady in the playoffs is back as QB1 in our nation’s capital. While he wasn’t incredible in his first appearance, it was without first-team reps during most of the offseason. The ODU product is definitely worth an add in superflex leagues.
Cordarrelle Patterson: It looks like Patterson might be viable in the backfield in Atlanta. Mike Davis was phased out due to the game script on Sunday, and it led to Patterson getting seven carries for 54 yards along with two grabs for another 13 yards. Watch for Patterson to get more involved as a pass catcher in the coming weeks. Patterson is definitely worth a flyer in waivers as the Falcons backfield tries to establish a hierarchy.
Mark Ingram: This is one of my favorite adds of the week. This backfield looks like it belongs to Mark Ingram. Anytime an RB is getting 20+ touches, I want them on my fantasy team, and Ingram got 26 on Sunday. He put in work with those 26 touches, too, totaling 85 yards and a TD against the Jags. He’s worth an add and potentially a flex spot on your roster going into week 2.
Zach Pascal: What started as a joke between friends has become a reality. Zach Pascal is a decent fantasy option. He is clearly Wentz’s redzone target right now, catching both of Wentz’s week 1 TD passes. Pascal also had more targets from Wentz than expected WR 1 Pittman. While Ingram was one of my favorite targets, this is my must-add of the week!
Danny Amendola: Lack of faith in the Texans has led to a lot of them appearing on this list. Amendola had five grabs for 36 yards and a score on Sunday and has definitely earned the trust of Tyrod Taylor as a result. With Amendola rostered in just 6% of Sleeper leagues, he should be available if you need WR help.
Dalton Schultz: As always, if you’re turning to waivers for a TE, good luck, but this is probably your best option. Schultz looked like he won the TE1 job on Thursday for the Cowboys. He was targeted six times and caught all 6 of those targets putting up a solid 10.5 in PPR leagues. With Gallup out, Schultz has the potential to keep a very similar workload against the Chargers on Sunday.
